Low end Olmo as imported in the late '50's and 60's into the '70's. Straight gauge tubing, Stamped dropouts. 27" Italian clincher rims, steel earlier, alloy later, Nisi or Fiamme rims. Inexpensive steel hubs, some are the Italian Simplex hubs, quick release skewers later, wingnuts earlier in the '60's, possibly into the 1950's also. Steel cottered Olmo/ Magistroni type swaged crankset. Chainrings usually 47/50. Italian Sheffield sprint pedals, with toe clips and straps. Saddle was low end Aquila leather. Campagnolo Gran Sport derailleurs with downtube shifters. Earlier models had a rod front shifter, later ones had a box type push rod Gran Sport front derailleur. Four, then five speed freewheel. Usually Universal brakes, side pull first, then '61's. Ambrosio bar and stem. Straight steel post, Came with fenders. Bikes were mostly in metallic red, blue, and gold. Retailed for about $89.95. The next model up [from bottom/low], a semi-pro, straight gauge tubing, had lighter weight tubing, forged Campagnolo ends, had sewups, Blue label Fiamme rims, Campagnolo high flange hubs with quick release skewers, Campagnolo Gran Sport derailleurs, steel cottered Magistroni cranks, usually steel chainwheels 47/50. Red label Fiamme sewup rims, high flange Campagnolo hubs , earlier ones racing Magistroni cranks, alloy chainrings, Campagnolo Gran Sport derailleurs, Brooks saddle, alloy Ambrosio bar and adjustable stem, double butted Falck tubing, forged Campagnolo dropouts, Started at $169.95.
