corophiid amphipod
Haplocheira plumosa
Haplocheira plumosa is found in
Antarctica and the Antarctic Peninsula, South Orkney Islands, South Georgia
Island, and Kerguelen Island at depths from 0 to 250 meters [1].

Haplocheira plumosa is a filter-feeder and has been
collected up to nine millimeters in length [1]. Antarctic
benthic amphipod predators include fish and squid [3].
Among malacostracan crustaceans, amphipods are the most abundant
and diverse group in benthic Antarctica [2].
